DonateADrink

We are so pleased to announce our new project, DonateADrink , dedicated to helping our causes through a novel and exciting scheme.

The scheme is simple.

1. Choose a date.

2. Choose a drink.

3. Choose a cause.

All profit from the chosen drink, on the chosen date, will be donated to the cause of your choice. A simple, effective and attractive way to raise money - with benefits for all involved.

We give great thanks to friends and founding members Guy Pelly and Marc Burton for hosting our soft launch at Tonteria, which has just been named by The Times as THE place to be on a Thursday night.

Join us this Thursday, 7th November, at Tonteria's first anniversary, to take part in the beginning of what will be a VERY exciting journey. Proceeds will be donated to Walking with the Wounded

For complimentary guestlist and tables, email aabrams@wcpun.org or jess@tonteria.co.uk and quote 'The Society of Young Philanthropists'.*

A New Friend in Boodles

Following the success of last week's Boodles Boxing Ball (which remarkably raised an incredible £200,000+), the luxury jewellery brand has announced their support for The Society.

The company's director, James Amos, says:

'The Society of Young Philanthropists is doing great things already, and what a fantastic endeavour it is. Charitable giving is all too often reactive, rather than proactive amongst our generation. In our small way, we try to make a difference with the biennial Boodles Boxing Ball, but there is plenty more opportunity for everyone to get involved and to give to charity. Focused charitable events, opportunities for volunteering, and structured philanthropy will only be a good thing for the challenging world that we live in. I wish you every success on what will certainly be an interesting journey…'

We are so incredibly excited to have Boodles on board. They know fundraising better than most, and we can only hope to emulate their success.

We congratulate Boodles, their committee, and all who fought at last week's ball for a truly magical and memorable evening!

Beulah do us proud.

The Society is so incredibly excited  to announce that two of our founding members, Lavinia Brennan and Natasha Rufus Isaacs, have been nominated for The Evening Standard's Women of the Future Awards . The two lovely ladies have worked together to create ethical fashion brand Beulah London , whose clothes are as beautiful as their work is charitable.

Congratulations on this extremely exciting and certainly deserved honour!

In the Name of Honour

We are so proud to announce that the Sara Charlton Charitable Foundation is taking the Domestic Abuse sector by storm with its campaign, In the Name of Honour. It is hosting a number of events this month in London, which we warmly invite you to attend.

The first is an exhibition, In the Name of Honour , which will display works which address domestic violence against women. The catalogue is available online, and we recommend that all explore the catalogue to see what is on offer, here .

The campaign will also feature a series of remarkable talks which are free to members of the public. See below for details.

The Foundation is run by Committee member Antonia Packard, and so we can reliably and enthusiastically attest to the fantastic work it does.

A quick thank you.

The Society would just like to thank Walking with the Wounded for letting us volunteer for them at Polo in the Park last weekend. It was incredible to see how fun volunteering can be (cc: schmoozing, dancing and some well deserved glasses of rose!) and such an honour to be able to work with some of your amazing ex-servicemen - we are so proud of everything you do!

Keep checking back for more updates on the South Pole Expedition 2013, and how you can get involved.

If you would like to take the initiative and help the cause on your own terms, click here for access to VIP treatment from the charity, including some direct involvement from the ex-servicemen that you will be helping.

+SocialGood

The Society is always amazed by the wonderful philanthropic initiatives going on worldwide, especially among young people. So, we are pleased to announce that we have teamed up with +SocialGood, an initiative of the UN Foundation.

We are going to mark our relationship by hosting a salon-style dinner in London , on 25th September , to discuss 'Youth + philanthropy + social good' - in other words, the contribution that young people can - and should - make, and how they can use technology to do so. It will be available worldwide through a live twitter feed. Get in touch for more details on what will be a unique and exciting evening!
