GIVE LONDON

It is now time to give. We all have the power to make a difference, to someone's life, to the protection of animals, to the old man falling over as he crosses the street. But we don't. We are too lazy. We don't know how. We don't get anything from it. That is where you're wrong. We do. And we can. Things are about to change, and we are inviting you to be part of something huge.

The Problem

Young people in the UK don't give nearly as much as they should. They don't know how, they don't think that it will make a difference, they don't think that it will be 'worth it'.

The Solution

We have assessed why giving isn't up to scratch, and approached each individual aspect to create a project that solves all.

It is simple:

We help you donate, volunteer or fundraise.

You get rewarded.

We will facilitate your involvement with the causes that suit YOU most. You will be given points which can be exchanged for discounts at luxury brands, restaurants and hotels, have exclusive access to members' clubs, some of the most sought after events around the world, and 'money can't buy opportunities'.

Welcome to GIVE London.

It is simple. It is clear. It will be revolutionary. Announced at the 65th Annual UN/NGO Conference in the UN Headquarters in August 2014, it is now ready to launch.

GIVE London is a web-based app which facilitates and incentivises giving.

-By using personal information from each user, it matches people with the causes and charities that would suit their passions and capabilities most.

-It will offer the choice to donate, volunteer, or fundraise by connecting people to one-off opportunities, permanent positions, charitable crowd-funding platforms, and inspirational ideas for fundraising.

-All causes involved will be fully transparent and efficient, removing some of the major concerns related to giving.

-It will track members’ giving and award them points for everything they do.

In order to create fruitful and long-term relationships, it will reward personal involvement, such as volunteering or fundraising, twice as much as donating.

-Members will be rewarded with discounts at luxury brands, restaurants and hotels, access to members clubs and exclusive events, and money-can’t-buy opportunities.

-It will have a public area featuring the Top 10 Givers, using social media, cross-pollination and innate competitiveness to stir people to action.

-Without asking for much, it will allow the world’s major fashion houses, events, members’ clubs, hotels and restaurants to dramatically increase their CSR and be known as part of something revolutionary.

-It will enable charities to have a far bigger voice, and connect with the people, companies and brands that can help them most.

-Its close connections to the World Council of Peoples for the United Nations, Charities Aid Foundation and UN Foundation ensure maximum impact and press for all involved.

-It is, for all, a win-win.

The Reason for Success

The project will be run by The Society of Young Philanthropists, which forms the UK Division of The World Council of People's for the United Nations.

This means that we are being looked after and curated by world leaders' in the NGO field. Every partner will be assessed for efficiency, authenticity and transparency.

We are already working with the UN Foundation and the Charities Aid Foundation to help launch #GivingTuesday in London. Our parters are the best they can be.

We have already brought in such brands as Annabel's, Kate Spade New York, Beulah London and Finlay and Co. Everyone is saying yes.

Our events so far have been featured in the National Press 20 times and sell out weeks in advance

Our blog, SocietyRedressed, is receiving 5,000+ views per week. Our popularity is already immense.

What people are saying

The project is a source of inspiration to all of us in WCPUN regardless of our generation. As the UK-based Chapter of WCPUN, The Society is a role model for creative leadership and partnerships that can help transform attitudes and behavior in favor of a genuine engagement with social and environmental justice.

Sherrill Kazan, President; Shamina de Gonzaga, Executive Director, WCPUN

The Society of Young Philanthropists looks super well thought out and just incredible! I wonder if anyone is doing something similar here as I would love to join myself!

Anastasia Dellaccio, Outreach and Communications, United Nations Foundation

The Society of Young Philanthropists is doing great things already, and what a fantastic endeavour it is. Charitable giving is all too often reactive, rather than proactive amongst our generation... Focused charitable events, opportunities for volunteering, and structured philanthropy will only be a good thing for the challenging world that we live in.

James Amos, Director, Boodles

I am excited to support 'The Society of Young Philanthropists', and am pleased to hear that it is progressing finely and receiving widespread support. It is a wonderful idea, based on principles which are entirely worthy. There is a distinct lack of young people involved in charity and social action, and there is a necessity to change this. By providing a platform for volunteering and purposeful discussion, 'The Society' is enabling this to happen in a seamless way, allowing young people to easily 'do good', in a way that is easy and appealing. The idea of incentivising and rewarding involvement is novel and exciting, and I am pleased to see the range of brands and organisations getting involved!

Ian Carter, President, Hilton Worldwide

I’m excited to hear about the creation of the Society of Young Philanthropists. Compared to the Americans, the British are not generous philanthropists. The Europeans are even worse. Yet philanthropic funding, used thoughtfully, can have a massive impact. Our generation faces countless huge challenges, and therefore needs smart, generous, committed philanthropists more than ever.

Ben Goldsmith, Chairman, The JMG Foundation

The charities love us too...

It’s an extremely worthwhile initiative and one which we would be more than happy to become involved with…

Andrew Cook, Director of Fundraising, Walking with the Wounded

The Society’ provides the perfect platform for those who want to give their precious time or funds, making it easy and accessible to have a direct impact on vital causes whilst at the same time benefiting themselves from rewards. It’s a perfect example of karmic back-scratching where everyone involved wins and this approach is key to ensuring long term support for an ever increasingly crowed charity sector.
